VERICUT Composite Applications comprises of two modules: VERICUT Composite Programming (VCP) & VERICUT Composite Simulation (VCS). VCP reads CAD surfaces and ply boundary information and adds material to fill the plies according to user specified manufacturing standards and requirements, whereas VCS reads CAD


software, which claims to improve accuracy and consistency when machining composite components. The software, developed in association with metrology specialist MSP, gives the ability to adjust toolpaths to the actual position of the part, rather than having to ensure that the component is in exactly the nominal location specified in the CAM system. To ensure accurate trimming and profiling, NC-PartLocator gathers the necessary data using a probe fitted onto the machine tool and creates a probing sequence to collect a series of points from the component. This data is then used by best fit routines within the software to determine the part’s exact position to generate a tailored toolpath. Developed specifically to eliminate fibre breakout when
