Our horses are selling so fast this year that we ask you to please call us with your wish list so we can let you know if we get one that could suite you and your family.

Hannah is a beautiful, 14.3h, 11- year-old working ranch horse. She will rope, walk fences and do it all. The most amazing part of Hannah is her disposition. She is so gentle and safe that you can ride with no bridle and a rope around her neck. Hannah would make a good horse for the family and a safe anywhere trail horse.

was talking to me recently about her plan to take her teen-aged girls on a quick vacation before school starts and she said she was taking them to Thailand. “We could go to Florida or Hawaii” she said “but I want them to experience a differ- ent culture and there is such a culture of peace and respect in Thailand”.

how often as riders, teachers, trainers we remember to think about respect and gratitude in our dealings with our horses, students, and associates. In training and riding horses it is of course essential that the trainer is in charge and that the horse is obedient but our attitude in dealing with our horses will be reflected back to us. Those of us fortu-

respectful and grateful approach to our mounts. When you con- sider what we expect from them - immediate and correct inter- pretation of our aids - with little regard to their level of training or our own level of expertise, we quickly realize that our horses are amazing. How easy it is to become frustrated with a horse, and even to resort to kicking him, pulling on the reins or even hitting him, when he does not seem to be listening to our aids. In all probability he has little or no idea about what we want him to do so perhaps he just stands there, or maybe he takes off and tries to run away, whereupon we may heap more abuse on him! So in the heat of this

nate enough to have ridden and worked in the top Riding Schools in Europe may have had respect for the horse well instilled in our youth but mod- ern American society doesn’t seem to set great store by the importance of developing a

Hannah Hand Tooled Montana

Montana is the most wonderful safe ranch horse you can find. His disposition is amazing yet he can work cattle, sort, open and close gates, and is a great trail horse. He is a very low key guy that does not get excited about anything. We have tarped, walked over bridges and he just is a cool dude. We have ridden him everywhere and he just is a doll. He’s very consistent and nothing seems to bother him.

Toole is a 9-year-old, 15.1h Quarter Horse. This horse is AMAZING! He was a turn back horse, a roping (ranch) horse, will pull bulls into a trailer, side pass and has a great handle on him. He is so gentle and low key that he is a joy to work with. He will load, stand tied, clip, is perfect for the farrier and is an easy horse in the pasture. The remarkable thing about this horse is he loves children! Pam has been giving lessons to a small child and he loves it. He knows who is on him and when a child mounts, he just knows. When a rider gets on and tells him to do a job, he will.

If the horse doesn’t suit your needs, we’ll trade out for another of our fine horses! Please check our web site to view them and review our buyer quarantee program.

Horse Association of America, Inc. announces a new format for its annual fall horse show. The formerly Pinto Congress will become the Color Breed Congress in 2010. This new for- mat will offer classes for horses registered with the PtHA as well as the Palomino Horse Breeders of America, International Buck- skin Horse Association and the American Buckskin Registry Association. Adding the three additional breed association classes will bring new horses and colors to the annual fall show. The Color Breed Con-

Texas summer I would like to encourage everyone to slow down a little, approach your horse respectfully, with calm authority, and if he is misun- derstanding your aids try to find a better way of explaining to him what you want. Remain grateful to your horses for all the hours of joy and freedom they give you and remember to play. We advance our horse’s

Horse Association of America, Inc., the 5-day competition will showcase colorful and talented horses and their exhibitors in a wide array of disciplines includ- ing English, Western, Barrel Racing, and Halter. Special events at

the Color Breed Congress will include a Color Breed Cash Challenge that allows any horse registered with PtHA, IBHA, ABRA, PHBA, ApHC and APHA to show and includes:

ing weekly with each horse, in the arena, dismounted, no tack. They all love to run, show off, play tag, and even jump little obstacles that happen to be there - just because they want to not because I’m telling them to. This also gives you a chance to really look at their bodies and assess their correct muscular development. You do not have to be an expert in biomechan- ics to appreciate how they are moving and whether they are becoming more beautiful every day, as should be the case if your training is correct. So let go of life’s

stresses, enjoy your horses, approach and ride respectfully, and show your appreciation and gratitude afterwards.
