helicopter into Kenya, North East Heli- copters of South Africa has placed orders for two more helicopters, which are cur- rently scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2010. There are more than 50 S- 300 series helicopters now operating in southern Africa, where North East Heli- copters is the distributor for Sikorsky light helicopters.
EDRA Aeronáutica of Brazil has two S-300CBi helicopters on order for law en- forcement in Brazil. EDRA is another dis- tributor for Sikorsky light helicopters. Seven state police agencies in Brazil op- erate a total of 11 S-300CBi and S-300C helicopters. EDRA has trained about 75 percent of the police pilots in Brazil and is pursuing future sales to support upcom- ing international sporting events in Brazil over the next few years.

Helicopters Riding Wave of Success in United Kingdom
Sikorsky Search and Rescue (SAR) S-
helicopters are on a path to unprece- dented success in 2010 after coming off a record year of rescues in 2009 and re- cently being selected for the United King- dom’s Search and Rescue Helicopter service. The aircraft are operated by CHC Helicopter Corp. and the S-92 helicopter is manufactured by Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. Sikorsky is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp.
On Feb. 1, the U.K. Ministry of De-
fence and Department of Transportation selected the Soteria Consortium as the preferred bidder to provide turnkey heli- copter services in the United Kingdom well into the 21st century. Sikorsky Air- craft, which manufactures the S-92 heli- copter, is a member of the Soteria team, along with CHC, Thales and the Royal
Bank of Scotland. Sikorsky S-92 helicopters operating in
the U.K. had a record year of rescues in 2009, performing 295 missions. CHC Search and Rescue currently operates four SAR S-92 helicopters from two bases covering territory in the North Atlantic and the North Sea. In Stornoway, West-
