Soccer team upsets

The North Buncombe Middle School Girls’ Soccer team pulled
a huge upset, toppling previously undefeated Valley Springs 3-2 in
double overtime Thursday (March 19). The win improved the Lady
Hawks’ record to 5-1. After giving up two first-half goals, Kaitlyn
Fischer made several key saves in the second half and both of the
overtimes to preserve the victory. Goals from Maite Gonzalez, Cayci
Brachins and Amber Price led the Hawks’ offense.
