North Buncombe boys’ soccer team will host its first playoff game

4). The BlackHawks finished second in the Class 3-A portion of
the Mountain Athletic Conference. Head Coach Chris Zimmerman
said the team’s seniors, James Botago, David Larkin-Thorsen and Je-
sus Hernandez, have done a good job leading the team. Kyle Morse
is the team’s leading scorer. Zimmerman hopes for a strong home
crowd in the playoff game.
Trick or treat at Brian Center
The community is invited to join in at the trick or treat event from 5 pm to 8
pm on Friday (Oct. 30) at Brian Center in Weaverville. Residents will have signs
on their door if they are giving out candy. In 2008, the residents bagged more than
2,400 bags of candy. For more information, call Ginger Johnston at 645-4297.
