SE: Who are your sailing heroes?
RH: Ted Hood, Dennis Conner (Mr.
America’s Cup) and I’ve got to say the old
man – Merle Hallett.
SE: Why do you think you still enjoy
sailing?
RH: It’s the competition
SE: When you have a rare day off, what
is your favorite way to relax?
RH: Go sailing!
SE: What do you like to do when you are
not sailing?
RH: Watch football games and do the
house stuff that has been neglected through
the busy months.
SE: What are your dreams for the future?
RH: To just survive! It’s a very tough
economy. Did you know that there used to be
325 boats in Key West (January) with over
100 in PHRF in 2001? As of yesterday, there

were just 14 signed up for Key West PHRF.
