This off-the-beaten-track collection is the result
of one man’s lifetime of collecting anything World
War Two. Three Romney hangars are home to more
than 60 mainly British and Canadian vehicles,
including a 1944 Churchill Mk VII Crocodile
Flamethrower Infantry Tank, armoured cars, trucks
and personnel carriers, and two 25-pounder field
guns, restored and displayed in combat condition.
Among all that hardware are thousands of
smaller items, from mortar shells to ration books,
machine guns to gas masks. Displays of uniforms,
kit and equipment show a glimpse of the soldier’s
life during the 1939-1945 period. Items fro other
conflicts include personal weapons and equipment
from WWI, an Argentinian gun and Mercedes jeep
from the Falklands War, and a Centurion tank from
the first Gulf War.
