NEW CITY PRIMARY SCHOOL STATEMENT ON HOMEWORK
It is school policy that homework is sent home regularly, i.e. on a weekly basis. This may
include reading, maths, spellings and times tables tests, project work or information
gathering. We very much appreciate parent’s help in encouraging your child to complete
the tasks. Self discipline learned now will greatly help with study in Secondary School
and later life. If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact your
class teacher. There are homework clubs to support children.
There will also be regular occasions when extensions of school activity will be valuable.
This would be particularly so with reading skills. Please encourage your child to read
regularly. There may also be spelling and times tables tests and extension of project
activities. This will commence from the Reception year.
