Dear Kathy,
I enjoyed the premiere issue of your magazine so much, particularly
the “Featured Professional” article on John French. I do not know John
F but he has long been one of my favorite riders. You provided such great
E
insight into an interesting and obviously compassionate person. Looking
forward to reading more about the personalities and philosophies of the
E professionals we see riding and training at show after show.
D
Best wishes for the continued success of Show Biz!

Autograph Sessions
Last issues Autograph Session was, in part, about a young lady
who follows the riders...her idols. Her name is Kristen Garrett and she
is actually 14 years old. She rides at a local San Diego barn, North
Coast Equestian Park, with Gretchen Davis her longtime instructor.
Banjo, a 17h white Warmblood, and Noodles, a 15h bay Argentine
Thoroughbred, are available for her to ride in her weekly lessons and
occasionally show. At a recent show she won 2 classes, a nice start in
the show ring.
Her goal of preparing for her future includes an opportunity to work
at NCEP as an instructor’s assistant. In June, 2007, Kristen began an
internship at Ivey Ranch in Oceanside assisting moderately to severely
handicapped children in their therapeutic riding program.
Her quote for other riders...“Some people on the outside do not see or
understand the beauty within a horse that only riders can see”.
