sports block sits independently from the main
school buildings so that it can be used in the
evenings, at weekends and during school
holidays by the community. A community
reception and meeting room with independent
access are also available for locals to use.
Caroline explains: “The community

organisations and groups the chance to
experience the Yewlands approach in action.
More than a gesture, it is hoped that this
communal usage will instil confidence in the
local community, provide opportunities to
improve health and well being, a home for
organisations that might otherwise have
struggled, and inspire future generations to
