A TASTE OF GOLF
A few Buxton Community School youngsters who took up
MUSIC FOR LIFE CONCERT Buxton Rotary's “Taste of Golf” invitation were put through their paces at Peak Practice Golf Golf Driving Range.
330 people enjoyed the musical extravaganza provided by
Burbage Band , the Mad Hatters Youth Choir and The
Beresford Singers in the Octagon in Buxton's Pavilion PLAN INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIP
Gardens. In all, about £1,300 was raised for vaccines for
Rotary's End Polio Now Polio Eradication campaign, spurred
on by the Bill & Melinda Gates US$100 Million Challenge.

3 rd ANNUAL ROTARY WINDGATHER FELL RUN
Andy Pead, Golf Valley Striders, won the 3rd running of
Buxton Rotary's Annual Windgather Fell Race against a field
of 127 runners in a time of 1.39:59. Jackie Lee, Eryri Harriers,
finished as first lady in 1.55:10 - exactly the same time she set
for the ladies' record in 2007. £1,000 was raised overall by the
Goyt Valley Fell Run Series, which ends with the Windgather.
Superb prizes, presented by President Ian Saunders, were
again donated by race sponsors, Alexanders of Buxton .
