RPGNS his wonderful exhibition of contemporary drawing was organised by Grafton Regional Gallery in 2010. It comprised 46
drawings from 426 entries from all over Australia, featuring new and emerging artists. We were privileged to have this exhibition on display in the Cowra Regional Art Gallery over the Christmas period until 29th January 2012. Friday 16th December

2011, the special Christmas Opening was performed by Cowra Regional Art Gallery Director Brian Langer, and Tracey Callinan Executive Officer from Arts Out West entertained during the evening with beautiful baroque keyboard music.
NB. Tracey went on to spend her holidays teaching music at primary schools in Kenya in some of the worst slum areas. Her report can be read in the April issue of Artspeak - a far different environment to that above. Exhibition and Floor Talk

n Saturday 17 March from 12.30 pm over 60 people attended a special floor talk by Stuart Town based Tim Winters followed by the opening of his exhibition
ISLAND to ISLAND: Australia / Sark /Orkney, as well as a showcase exhibition of new acquisitions to the Gallery collection from the past 3 years. Tim Winters’ exhibition includes large collagraph

prints inspired by the neolithic landscape of Orkney islands, a group of small islands located near Scotland in the North Sea; a series of mixed media works on paper exploring the tiny island of Sark landscape located in the Channel Islands near France and a series of large paintings on canvas inspired by the outback of northern Australia. The collection exhibition - From the Collection: New Acquisitions -
includes paintings by Lucy Buttenshaw, Judy Cassab, Peter Gardiner, Joanna Logue, Claire Martin and HJ Wedge. The Opening of this interesting exhibition was performed

by renowned Australian artist Professor Mandy Martin, ANU Canberra. In her address, Mandy said she was pleased to be asked to open the exhibition, and commented that she related in particular to Tim’s paintings of the Australian channel country as she has visited them herself. Mandy also congratulated the Gallery on their recent acquisitions - in particular the Olive Cotton prints and the Harry Wedge painting, as these artists have ‘put Cowra on the map’.
Tim Winters: Experimental Drawing Workshop. 31 March 2012 Ten enthusiastic artists gathered in the Multi-Purpose room adjacent to the Gallery to experiment with charcoal alone to start, and graduated to mixed media later in the day. Tim gave the participants some challenging tasks with interesting results. All in all it was a very
