Term 3, Week 8 SPORT PRIMARY SPORT


Sport will be played on Friday afternoons from 2.00pm until 3.00pm.


If you have to pay for the bus, court hire or golf tuition, the money needs to be paid before school each Friday. If you do not pay, you will play soccer that week.


REGIONAL ATHLETICS


CARNIVAL Well done to all the athletes who competed at the Regional Athletics Carnival in Dubbo last Friday.


Congratulations to the six athletes who are now off to the State Athletics Carnival in Sydney on Wednesday, 21 and Thursday, 22 October.


The athletes are:


 Jeremy Carpenter - 1st in Senior Boys’ 100m & 200m


 Ellis Hawker - 1st in Junior Boys’ 800m


 Tayla Tarrant - 1st in Senior Girls’ 100m & Senior Girls’ Relay


 Cortney Nealon - Senior Girls’ Relay  Rachael Graham - Senior Girls’ Relay  Isabella Allen - Senior Girls’ Relay


BOYS’ SOCCER EASTERN/WESTERN CHAMPIONS


Congratulations to the boy’s soccer team who won their 4th round match against Orange Public School, 5-1 and then went on to win their 5th round match against Bathurst Public School, 9-0. They now play Cudgegong Valley Public School today.


If they win this game they will be Western Region Champions and travel to Sydney to play in the State titles.

Thursday at 2.00 –3.15pm - The clothing


pool is open during the Primary Assembly. Friday at 2.15-3.15pm - The clothing


pool is open during the Infants Assembly.


The Primary and Infants Assemblies are held every second week (even weeks).

CANBERRA EXCURSION All attending students should have paid a $75 deposit by now.


There are then four payment options available:

Cowra Public School tennis team will play St Raphael’s School on Friday, 17 September 2010 at the Cowra Tennis Courts.


A note has been sent home to the players involved.


Please fill in the


permission and medical notes and return them to the school.


Travel to and from the courts will be by private car and parental assistance on the day would be greatly appreciated.


B OYS’ TOU CH


FOOTBALL The Cowra Boys’ Touch Football team will play in the 4th round of the PSSA Knock-out against Calare Public School on Monday, 13 September at Calare Public School.


The game will commence at 11.00am and the team will depart Cowra Public School at 9.00am. Travel will be by private transport.


A permission note and medical form have been sent home. Please return the completed notes to school tomorrow.


COLES SPORTS FOR

Coles Supermarkets are putting on a sports for schools challenge.


Collect a voucher for every $10.00 you spend in a Coles Supermarket, Coles Online, Bi-Lo or Pick’n Pay from 2 September - 31 October 2010 and the school could receive sports gear. (excludes purchases on gift cards, mobile recharge, calling cards).


The school has a large box in the foyer where you can drop in your vouchers. The more vouchers, the more prizes.


This is a great opportunity for the school to


gain sporting equipment. Our Regional Athletes some valuable

2. Pay weekly amounts of no less than $10 so that the full amount is paid by Monday 1 November.
