Montpelier Plantation Inn, Nevis. In the 18th century Montpelier was a working sugar plantation, and the setting for Lord Nelson’s
wedding to Fanny Nisbet in 1787. In the 1930s the plantation fell into disrepair. Today it has been restored to its former glory and the
30-acre property has become a sought-after romantic retreat. Most of Montpelier’s sugar fields have given way to tropical vegetation,
although a patch is still farmed to supply its kitchens. Visitors to Nevis can explore the many ruins of the old plantation homes and
deserted sugar plantations on the island. Seasons in Style has seven nights at Montpelier Plantation Inn from £1,995 based on two sharing a
premier room on a B&B basis, including BA flights to St Kitts and boat transfer to Nevis. Valid until May 31, 2009.
