Col. Robert G. Certain, USAFR (Ret), Life Member (joined 2000): Certain earned his bachelor’s degree from Emory Uni- versity in Atlanta and was commissioned in the Air Force. After

fl ying B-52s for four years, including two tours in Southeast Asia and three months as a POW, he completed master’s and doctor of ministry degrees and became a chaplain. He currently is executive director of the Military Chap- lains Association and serves on MOAA’s board of directors.

Capt. Tommy Clack, USA (Ret), Life Member (joined 1970): Clack spent more than three years in the Army and served in Vietnam as an artillery forward observer. He was wounded in

1969 and lost three of his limbs. After his recovery, he graduated from Geor- gia State University and pursued government work. Clack chairs the Walk of Heroes Veterans War Memorial foundation, a group dedicated to honoring veterans by constructing a 1,200-foot-long memorial park in Conyers, Ga.

Lt. Col. Glenn Nivens, USA (Ret), Life Member (joined 1988): Nivens retired from the Army in 1986 with 29 years of ser- vice. Over the past two years, he has attended nearly all Alabama

military deployments and presented dozens of talks on military topics. Nivens participates in Revolutionary War honor guard, is a standard bearer, and vol- unteers to document historical cemeteries. He also works with ROTC and Ju- nior ROTC units through MOAA’s Greater Birmingham (Ala.) Chapter.

Col. Robert G. Rupp, USA (Ret), Life Member (joined 1995): Rupp retired with 38 years of service in the active Army and Guard and Reserve. He is a Battle of the Bulge survivor, and

his unit was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation for stopping an entire German division and anchoring the south shoulder of the Bulge, helping make victory possible. At 95 years old, Rupp still attends almost every meet- ing of the Minnesota Chapter of MOAA and its board of directors. MO
