WHETHER PROWLING THE BACKWATERS OR STALKING A FARM POND, THE BIG GAME II IS STABLE ENOUGH FOR STAND-

ing accessories, the Big Game II has removable mounting sur- faces along the gunwales that allow anglers to attach tracks and bases without drilling directly into the kayak. The new design also includes a Mod Pod hatch in the center of the cockpit and a Click Seal hatch in the bow for improved access to the inside of the kayak. Another big change is the addition of Ocean Kayak’s El- ement Seating System. In the down position I was able to comfortably paddle through snappy chop and wind. The up position gave me an extra six inches of elevation for improved comfort and visibility. I really liked how easy it was to fold the lawn chair-style seating up and out of the way so I could stand at the boat’s most stable point. This feature is also great for fly fishing because it provides clear space for stripping line. The Glide Track foot braces are easy to adjust from the seat,

and they didn’t slip when I braced to paddle into a headwind or make a sharp turn. A transducer-compatible scupper hole in the cockpit and suspending battery bag in the front hatch make it easy to install and uninstall a fishfinder. While the redesigned Big Game II still features its predeces-

sor’s open-water performance hull, the new design now incor- porates topside features that will appeal to inshore and freshwa- ter anglers looking to fully outfit a fishing kayak. Ocean Kayak calls the Big Game II its battleship and this kayak is ready for war.
