Asbjørn Wahl addressed the meeting as the new chair of the Urban Transport Committee. He thanked delegates for their support and confirmed his strong commitment to take the Committee forward over the next four years. The other members of the newly-­‐elected Committee also addressed the meeting.

The meeting expressed its deep appreciation to Stefan Heimlich (Germany) who was retiring as chair of the committee after four years of service. He will be receiving the ITF Gold Badge.


Stephen Cotton (ITF acting general secretary) then addressed the meeting. He highlighted that urban transport has the potential to be a growth area for the ITF. The work programme for the Committee therefore provided big opportunities for wins for urban transport workers.
