WAYS SEPTEMBER 2014 19

This costume tells a story. Worn during a festival, it celebrates a people’s culture, or way of life. It tells of a shared history and beliefs, passing them from one generation to the next. This storyteller isn’t alone. Many different cultures hold celebrations that link the past with the present. They may wear wild masks, dance, chant, and more. Each tells a story. Let’s listen in.
