“I’m pretty much thinking about my near-future kayak all day.”

Re: I had an “I’d rather be kayaking” moment this morning. From a comment posted on Rapid’s Facebook page by Kali A. Maria Morrissey

Join The Party Our website and Facebook and Twitter pages are the online equivalent of a pad- dler’s party. Get advice on boats, gear, techniques and trips from the ultimate experts, and share your own wealth of knowledge in the comments section—a territory known, like all great whitewater gatherings, to have an unmistakable edge of good-natured vulgarity. We post daily photos, videos and news from the won- derful world of whitewater. Get in on the action at Rapidmag.com, Rapid Magazine on Facebook and @rapidmag on Twitter.

Safety First

In “Clipping Your Wings” in Rapid’s Early Summer issue (www.rapidmedia.com/0267) our editor quoted Green Race god Pat Keller, who charges among the most elite boaters in the world and is fiercely focused on the safety of our sport. In an interview for his profile in this issue (page 22), Keller took time to thank us for mentioning his safety-first stance. “I really like what y’all are doing with the safety-conscious and fun-loving push,” he said.
