PRACE is an international non-profit association providing a persistent world-class HPC service for scientists and researchers from academia and industry. The 6 systems accessible through PRACE are provided by 4 PRACE members (BSC (Spain), CINECA (Italy), GCS (Germany), GENCI (France)), through a single pan-European peer review process. PRACE supports users in porting, optimising, and peta-scaling applications and offers an extensive training programme. 25 countries are now members of PRACE. The EC supports the implementation of PRACE through a series of three Implementation Phase projects. By mid-2013 PRACE had provided 6.8 billion core hours to outstanding scientific projects.

HPC in EUROPE Wednesday, June 25, 2014, 3.15pm - 4:15 pm Hall 5, Congress Center Leipzig
Sergi Girona, Chair of the PRACE board of directors will chair an exciting session on HPC in Europe. Europe seeks to increase the impact of HPC for academia and industry, building on the three pillars which provide a strong base for growth: deployment of world-leading, cost-effective, HPC services, co-design initiatives to bring research and development capabilities of European HPC technology quickly to market, and the provision of excellent HPC applications expertise to support ambitious research to meet socio-economic and scientific goals. This session will highlight how each of these three strands of European HPC strategy is contributing to delivery of the vision of Horizon 2020.
