Information about upcoming BBC radio show content is once again entering the hen’s teeth zone. BBC Radio 3’s World On 3 (Fridays @ 11pm) has Mary Ann Kennedy presenting Martin & Eliza Carthy on 20th June, followed by three weeks of Lopa Kothari with mystery guests. And there’ll be something unspecified live from Womad on 25th – 27th July (though there’s no BBC stage this year due to budget cuts). And Mark Radcliffe continues presenting folk on Radio 2 on Wednesdays at 7pm, though exactly what is apparently an official secret too. And, er, that’s it.
Maggie Ayre’s BBC Radio 4
documentary Strange Fruit (which she wrote about in last December's fRoots) won Gold for Best Music Feature in the Radio Academy awards. Congratulations!

from the early days and founding and watching the festival grow from just one concert to the present day. However, I think it is time for younger organisers to move the festival on to meet the exciting developments in our world.” As a thank you to all Fylde supporters, past and present, Alan is extending the discounted weekend ticket period to the end of July.
