he full-scale Pilatus PC-6 Turbo Porter is known worldwide for its outstanding utility. Its durable air- frame, abundant power, substan- tial payload and excellent short field per- formance make the Turbo Porter one of the great “pick-up trucks” of the aviation world. The Swiss-made PC-6 is just as happy flying freight into tortuous runways hand-carved out of the jungle as it is carrying a load of sky divers from a rural airport. Its varied missions also include air ambulance work, search and rescue, law enforcement, aerial survey and sightseeing—and just about any other task you can imagine. Wherever there is hard work to be done, you can rest assured a Turbo Porter has been on site, reliably earning its keep.

Emulating that versatility in model form is the latest offering from Multiplex, a scaled down version of this legendary work- horse. The Multiplex Pilatus PC-6 Turbo Porter comes fully equipped with six servos, and a powerful brushless motor and speed control, all preinstalled. Add your own re- ceiver and battery, and this 1:12 scale repli- ca will soon be ready for your own missions in the sky.

There are no external control horns or pushrods on this model, giving it a very scale appearance. There are only a few steps required to as- semble the Pilatus before your first flight. You will need to mount the landing gear, stabilizer, wings and propeller and install your receiver. Resist the temptation to ig- nore the manual. There are several tips tucked into its pages that make it well worth the very short read. There are just seven pages of English instructions, and less than
