University emerged as the top seed after 24 games in the qualifying round in the 16-team men’s division, but Lindenwood and Robert Morris churned through the double-elimination match play portion of the event to reach the title matches.

In the men’s finale, Lindenwood
swept Urbana (Ohio), 3-0, to win its second national crown. (Lindenwood also won the USBC title in 2005.) Both teams rolled undefeated to the semifi- nals, where Wichita State handed Urba- na its first loss, 4-3, and San Jose State dealt Lindenwood its first loss, 4-1. Both squads rebounded to win the deciding matches and earn their spot in the final. Pikeville (Ky.), eighth in qualifying
in the 16-team women’s field, rolled through match play unbeaten to reach the final for the second consecutive year. (Pikeville lost to Maryland-Eastern Shore in 2013.) Robert Morris also reached the semifinals unscathed, but lost to Lindenwood, 4-2. The Eagles
rebounded to oust Lindenwood in the decider, 4-1. In the title match, Robert Morris swept Pikeville, 3-0, for its first national title Kerm Helmer Cup. The USBC Intercollegiate Champi-
onship finals will be shown on CBS Sports Network, with the women’s title match airing May 20 at 8:00 PM EST, and the men’s finale airing May 27, also at 8:00 PM EST. Reigning USBC Queens champion
and Webber International senior Diana Zavjalova claimed the women’s Inter- collegiate Singles Championship with a 290-247 win over Wichita State’s Tannya Roumimper. Wichita State junior Francois Lavoie won the men’s title with a 217-188 win over Midland’s Perry Crowell.
