EAST MEETS WEST n See works by Emma Rose and Emma Chapman, who have developed their artistic talents in two different continents. Emma Chapman works with master goldsmiths and stone cutters in Jaipur, India, to create exotic jewellery, while Emma Rose works in Bath on atmospheric landscapes using jewel-like colours and Indian inks. TRIPPING THE LIGHT FANTASTIC n Bath Artists’ Studios Gallery presents an exhibition of paintings by Lisa Kibble that explores the ephemeral aspects of light. WIDCOMBE ART TRAIL n Visitors are invited to take to Bath’s southern slopes for the annual Widcombe Art Trail weekend. This year there is a particular emphasis on demonstrations and ‘have a go’ activities. Artists will occupy local pubs The White Hart Inn and Ring O’ Bells, as well as Widcombe Baptist Church, St Matthew’s Church Hall, St Mark’s Community Centre and Action on Hearing Loss. 23 MAY – 8 JUNE REBELS FOR RENT n The Rebel Collection is a beautiful, amusing and sometimes challenging body of art works by celebrated urban artists including Charming Baker, Shephard Fairey and Banksy. The work is now available for public view in a pop-up exhibition in conjunction with the Fringe Arts Bath Festival. Every piece is for rent, giving those who can’t afford to buy a masterpiece to have work by a renowned urban artist on their wall.
