Shell Aviation launches centre of excellence S
hell Aviation has launched its Euro- pean programme, ACE, Aviation Centre of Excellence, in London. Designed with fixed-base operators and small and medium-sized airports
in mind, ACE is already in place in Gothenburg, Gazipaca, Zurich and Roskilde airports. ACE was put together to meet customer needs, covering a range of services, from safe and effective operations, marketing support, supply security, to the provision of modern, up-to-date, equipment. The marketing support element includes joint promotional and marketing materials and the Shell fuel and fly card. The supply security portfolio involves access to a supply and trading network, product quality assurance procedures and experts in fuels and logistics. Safety operations management gives access
to the Shell Airport operating manual, Shell HSSE programmes, flexible operations training,
dedicated technical support and inspection and assessment. Collaboration with Shell Aviation also means
dedicated customer care, access to the AeroShell Lubricants range and Shell Water Detectors. The programme includes the supply, manage- ment and maintenance of equipment required for business operations. “We are proud to
announce this exciting proposition. We are not just a fuels and lubricants supplier but a part- ner that is easy to do business with and offers a package of support”, says Shell Aviation Euro- pean sales manager Ioannis Topsakalidis. The ACE programme will make it easier for
customers to understand the wide range of ser- vices that Shell Aviation offers, it claims.
ANA to base fleet at Liege in May
ANA Airline Management will base its cargo fleet at Liège Airport from 29 May. From Liège (Belgium), there will be five regular flights a week, in addition to char- ter flights and humanitarian flights. The new flights will increase volumes trans- ported via the airport by 30,000 tonnes a year, representing growth of five per cent. ANA Aviation’s arrival at Liège will lead to the creation of 80 direct jobs and at least 200 indirect jobs. Most of the flights will be for Central and Western Africa, strengthen- ing Liège Airport’s position on the African continent. “For many years, we have been prospecting the African market because it represents a major import-export poten-
tial. After Ethiopian Airlines, AV Cargo and Qatar Airways, the arrival of an operator such as ANA Aviation confirms our leader- ship in Africa for cargo”, says Liège Airport’s general director Luc Partoune. “The quality of the services we can offer to the cargo community and the complementary links between airline networks are increasingly attracting players in this sector to us.” Im- ports include perishables such as flowers, fruit and vegetables, the airport says. ANA Aviation was drawn to Liège by the comparatively low fuel costs offered. Major stocking and fuelling facilities are available 24 hours a day thanks to an airport fuelling team.
