THOMSEN Marlyn Thomsen passed away suddenly on


MARRON On Feb. 3, 2014, Genevieve (Vee) Lynd Mar-


ron left this world to join her loving husband. Vee was born on April 5, 1924, in Prov- idence, R.I. As a youth she was a member of


Feb. 14, 2014, in Pittsford, NY. He was 82. Skating for the Saint Paul FSC, Marlyn was a


gold medalist, 1947 U.S. novice champion, 1950 Midwestern senior champion and a member of the Saint Paul Four. Partnered with his twin sister, Marilyn, John


Nightingale and Janet Gerhauser, the Four won U.S. titles in 1947, 1948 and 1950 and were the North American Four Champions in 1949. Marlyn skated two years with Ice Follies


before starting a long and successful career as a coach at Michigan State University (Lansing), Commonwealth FSC, RPI, Genesee FSC and Char- ter Oak FSC. He spent many years in property manage-


ment in the Rochester, N.Y., area. As a high school student, Marlyn won the


St. Paul city tennis championship and he re- mained active with golfing, skiing and gardening. He was proud to recently learn that one of


his early students, Lynn Benson, had been induct- ed into the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame. He is survived by his wife, Linda, Pittsford,


N.Y.; four children, grandchildren; and sister Mari- lyn (Don) Moyer, Lehi, Utah. Those wishing to make a memorial contri-
