eading office products distributor Spicers is equipping its Smethwick warehouse with the latest auto- matic data capture and RF technology solutions and services from Peak- Ryzex. The site that has recently been expanded to 17,000 m2 and will use new equipment including Honeywell barcode scanners, handheld comput- ers, barcode label printers and truck- mount terminals running wirelessly over a Cisco RF network. Peak-Ryzex’s technical support, pro- ject management, site survey audits and maintenance services back this latest technology purchase by Spicers. In addition, Spicers has invested in


the Wavelink Avalanche MDM (mobile device management) solution and will be using Peak-Ryzex MDM deploy- ment and training services to help


manage this in the near future. The solution will give a single centralised point of mobile IT management and control across its sites regardless of brand or technology. MDM prevents the cost of commissioning mobile computers, updating software and supporting users spiralling out of con- trol and ensures maximum uptime of all devices managed by the system.
