a first-century Palestinian, Roman, Jewish town. Te journey of Mary and Joseph, as well as the juxtaposi- tion of the manger and the majesty of what’s happening,” Myallis said. Schulden added, “It’s a lot of fun

when we bring it in here and the little kids see [it] and they love it.” Myallis has dubbed the club “Lego

Evangelists” because they’re taking a medium familiar to them and other kids, relearning the Christmas story and sharing it with others. And at Christmas the Lego nativ-

ity transforms the congregation. “Adults and parents get excited that the kids put this much work into something. It creates a lot of energy. I like being known as the church with the Lego nativity,” Myallis said. Te nativity, located in the social

hall and seen by some 1,000 people during the holidays, stays up into Epiphany. But the signs and won- ders of the Lego Club are evident throughout the year. A Lego model of their church is used during the child-friendly Wednesday evening worship service as an offering plate. And the club is already scheming for the congregation’s 275th anniversary. Club members are pretty tight-

lipped about their special anniver- sary project, but Houser let out one hint: “It’s going to be massive.” Myallis, meanwhile, is thankful to

the kids “for their witness and work.” “It was amazing to see how much

time they put into it,” he said. “When we give people permission and tools it’s amazing what creative ways they can live out their faith.” 
