of historic character, founded as the two halves of the transcontinental railway were joined at nearby Promontory in 1869. Historic 25th Street and the Union Station are highlights not to be missed in Ogden. Brigham City has many historic buildings and


is the gateway to one of America's best bird refuges, the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge. Nearby is Golden Spike National Historic Site. Nestled in scenic Cache Valley, Logan was a wilderness gathering-place for early mountain men and fur trappers and, today, is home to the American West Heritage Center and classic examples of early Mormon architecture. Drive Logan Canyon Scenic Byway to the breathtaking turquoise waters of Bear Lake to experience the “Caribbean of the Rockies” on your way to Yellowstone. Of all the cities in Utah, Park City is probably


best known for its resorts. The base for the U.S. Olympic training facility and site of several alpine Olympic events in 2002, Park City retains much of its early frontier character. Historic Main Street is lined with restaurants, clubs and bars, as well as art galleries and specialty shops. Park City’s resorts – Deer Valley, Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons – are open for year-round fun. All aboard for visiting the beautiful Heber

Valley provide some of the finest fly-fishing in the world, great golf, Sundance Resort, rafting and endless hiking paths in the Uinta-Wasatch Cache National Forest. A top attraction for Utah Valley is Thanksgiving Point which houses the Museum of Ancient Life, one of the largest dinosaur museums of its kind, beautiful estate gardens, a real working farm, shopping and dining.


EAST UTAH


Eastern Utah is world renowned for its dinosaur finds and the opportunities for visitors to see fossils on-site and in museums. Dinosaur National Monument is the world's largest quarry of Jurassic-Period dinosaur bones and has more than 2,000 exposed in its sandstone wall. Vernal, known as 'Dinosaurland', serves as its western gateway. Dinosaurland leads the way to Flaming


Gorge National Recreation Area and the majestic Uinta Mountains. This area is famous for its world-class fishing, boating and family adventures, all set in the scenic splendor of the National Recreation Area. Not to be missed, the Cleveland-Lloyd


Dinosaur Quarry, near Price, is another of the world's foremost dinosaur fossil sources.


SOUTH EAST UTAH


The snow-fed rivers of the Rocky Mountains have flowed west through south-eastem Utah for millions of years, creating a breathtaking


landscape of sheer cliffs and deep canyons, sky-scraping stone arches and mesas. The wide-open spaces, national parks and monuments, and the Colorado, San Juan and Green Rivers, invite visitors to experience adventure by bike, on foot, in rafts or on roads to enjoy the incredible beauty of the region. Located west of Green River, the San Rafael


Swell is two thousand square miles of narrow, circuitous canyons, scenic cliffs and towering buttes which makes up one of Utah's best outdoor playgrounds. Moab, located on the banks of the Colorado


River, lies in a valley between soaring, red sandstone cliffs and serves as the gateway to both Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. An energetic and scenic town, it is known worldwide for its mountain biking and many other outdoor adventures. Accommodation of all kinds, including luxury Western ranch lodges, as well as many restaurants and guide services, can be found in and around the town. Monticello, close to the southern entrance


to Canyonlands' Needles District, is nestled at the foot of the beautiful Abajo Mountains. It has a visitor centre, motels and restaurants and serves as a great jumping-off point for Hovenweep National Monument and a number of Utah State Parks. Near Blanding is Natural Bridges National


Monument. In this monument, three rock bridges are situated in a canyon accessed by short hiking trails. This is a great area for stargazing. Near the rim of Monument Valley is historic Goulding's Lodge. It was the area's first
