Dear Readers T
he Water Education Foundation launched an exciting new online resource in May –
Aquapedia.com. Aquapedia provides easy-to-use, easy-to-understand information on 200 water terms and topics. Each entry is supplemented with photos, videos, maps and other online tools. T e information comes from Foundation publications such as the Layperson’s Guides, River Report and Western Water – information vetted and reviewed by experts in the fi eld. T at’s important to us and to the people who will use the site to: • Look up a specifi c topic or issue • Browse a water terms glossary • Watch videos of the places and discussions with key people related to specifi c terms
• Scroll through a directory of water interest groups and agencies • Click on links to other Foundation resources such as publications, tours, maps and more
Take some time to point your browser to
www.aquapedia.com and check out this online encyclopedia. We plan to add more Colorado River Basin terms as we expand the site and we want your input. Click on the “keep us informed about this issue” button and let us know what terms you think we should add. We want to make this a resource that is useful to teachers, students, journal- ists, water professionals, policy makers and the general public. And help us create an online buzz about this valuable educational site. • Send the website address
www.aquapedia.com to all your contacts • Post information about the site on your website, Facebook and Twitter pages • Mention Aquapedia in your newsletter or e-newsletter • Support it. If you want to keep this stream of free information fl owing and accessible to everyone, including teachers, students, journalists, water professionals, policymakers and the general public, visit the Support Aquapedia page to help.
