Cabinet range is supplied flat-packed
New from CamdenBoss is the CamRack-QX series, a range of wall- mounting cabinets which are supplied flat-packed and can be assembled without tools in just three minutes. There are five models available: 6U measuring 421mm deep x 384mm high; 9U measuring 421 x 517mm; 12U measuring 521 x 651mm; 15U measuring 521 x 784mm; and 18U measuring 621 x 917mm. All units are standard 19in width (580mm). These feature a quick-release door with tempered, smoky safety glass, easily removable side panels with a pair of ¼-turn locks and easily drilled plastic blanking covers for cable entry, ensuring all cables are kept tidy
Adhesive tapes suit enclosure applications
A new range of tapes that are said to be particularly well suited to enclosure applications has been introduced by tesa. The patented technology in tesa ACXplus is based on high capacity acrylates which have been developed for long term, constructive bonding on both indoor and outdoor applications. This offers advantages including clear full-surface bonding, extreme load capacity, stress dissipation, corrosion prevention and resistance to both weather and temperature.
The specially balanced elastic and viscous properties used in the tapes enable the dissipation of extreme physical stress in compensating for different rates of thermal expansion and contraction of different
substrates. This is particularly beneficial as enclosures can be fitted with dissimilar substrates and are often used in harsh environments. When two materials with different thermal elongations are bonded, tesa ACXplus delivers an optimal high strength bond even where extreme temperature conditions or uneven or irregular surfaces are encountered, explains the company.
and secure, explains the company. With two 19in mounting profiles of variable depth in 20mm increments and included template for wall mount- ing, the new CamRack-QX series cabi- nets feature a maximum recommended load capacity of 45kg.
The company will soon be launching the CamRack-Soho which provides a wall mounted 19in cabinet for small spaces. This is the first product to be launched as part of a complete new British range of wall and floor mounting 19in cabinets. CamdenBoss T: 01638 716101 Enter 271

The benefits of stress dissipation are available to this product up to three times its own thickness. A 0.5mm tape can, for example, compensate for expansion in bonded materials up to 1.5mm. Powder coated materials such as enclosure bases or lids tend to display a lower surface energy, making them hard-to-bond and creating high degrees of thermal elongation. The new tape, however, is able to overcome these issues and provide a high strength bond. In addition, the tape’s acrylic system provides optimal wetting and equal distribution of stress across the bond area, meaning no weak points are created and a powerful bond on materials with different characteristics is formed. AV Innovate, a specialist supplier of machine tool guards and complete machine structures, has used tesa ACXplus 7065 as an alternative to spot welding to bond stiffeners into the panels of a machine guard enclosure. Spot welding generated heat spots which needed to be cleaned and prepared before the panels could be powder coated, resulting in additional re-work. By removing these pre- and post-preparatory steps whilst also enabling the stiffeners to be easily inserted after coating, tesa ACXplus 7065 streamlined the entire bonding process, creating productivity improvement and cost savings. tesa

By pairing its YW series 22mm E-Stop with its lightweight IP65 plastic enclosure, IDEC has introduced a new series of Emergency Stop switches ‘in a box’. The switches meet IEC60947-5-5, 6.2 ensuring the stop function shall be maintained until the emergency stop device is reset (disengaged); and the contacts have ‘direct opening action’ so even if the contacts are welded, the NC (normally closed) contacts are forced to open and break the circuit.

Featuring external dimensions of 252 x 210 x 40mm, these consist of a top and base moulding with two hinged covers which provide access to the two lateral battery compartments. The lateral hinged covers also hide both the case assembly screws and the external mounting screws if the enclosures are fitted to a wall, panel or machine housing. TEKO

The E-Stop can be reset by either the traditional twist action or a simple pull action and it is designed to ensure an object cannot become trapped between the mushroom button and enclosure, which could disable the button operation.
The enclosure itself is IP65 and manu- factured from polycarbonate, allowing an operating temperature range from -20 to +55˚C.

Compact cases have a range of channels Hansford Sensors’ compact stainless steel enclosures are available with a range of channels, offering a robust solution for data collection from remote points. The HS-SC enclosures can be specified with up to six channels, providing a series of solutions for different industrial environments and process conditions where vibration measurement is required. The enclosures provide a common point to termi- nate up to 100 accelerom- eters in situations where, for reasons of health and safety, engineers cannot get access to the machin- ery to take a reading. The enclosures are sealed to
IP66 and and can be used in hygiene-critical applications. Hansford Sensors
