COUNTRY FOCUS CASE STUDY TURKISH PRESENCE
Following a highly successful year, with a 20 per cent increase in sales in Turkey, Scottish company Delcam, a leader in CADCAM software, has opened an office in Istanbul.
The launch coincided with a UK trade mission led by Trade and Investment Minister Lord Green and John Cridland, director-general of the CBI. “We enjoyed our most successful year so far in Turkey during 2011,” says Delcam chief executive Clive Martell. “All the indications show that manufacturing in Turkey will continue to grow strongly over the coming years, so we felt it was the right time to add a direct subsidiary. This will help to maximise our ability to take advantage of the many opportunities for our software in the country.” Founded in 1977, after initial development work at the University of Cambridge, Delcam employs over 250 people at its Birmingham headquarters, with more than 400 in overseas subsidiaries and a further 200 in international joint ventures. Delcam Turkiye will support the company’s existing resellers in Turkey and help strengthen its profile there. > delcam.co.uk
