Carson Lindsay, a class V boater from California, had a decision to make. With his junior year at Santa Clara University rapidly approaching he needed to choose a semester abroad destination. He chose Buenos Aires, not only for its great study abroad program but because it was close to his dream kayak destination of Pucon, Chile. The plan was to complete the semester abroad in Argentina and hop over to Pucon to notch Chile’s top runs.

Fall Semester Oct 15 to Dec 17: Advanced to Solid Intermediates How Carson Realized His Dream
Everything looked set with Carson’s semester abroad so he began researching his real interest, kayaking Chile. For every logistical question an- swered it seemed another two problems had to be solved. How do I get my kayak to Chile? Can I rent one cheaply? What about buying one? Who will I paddle with? Will they know the runs? What about getting to the rivers and shuttles? Carson was real- izing his kayak dream might not happen.
