“Make a Wish”


“Wish strips—small pieces of paper filled with personal wishes and tied to rope—are often seen near Buddhist shrines and statues throughout South Korea. I took this picture at the Traditional Mask Dance Festival in Andong while studying there as part of Eastern’s Teach and Learn in Korea program. These tangible objects reflect the universal desire many people have for a better, happier and more peaceful life.”
