Our company believes that for us to succeed in a global market we must embrace the similarities and differences of our entire workforce. Dell has adopted a number of initiatives to promote diversity within Dell and to help influence behavior outside of Dell. Our Global Diversity Council reviews diversity efforts across the business from our suppliers to our own internal teams. And we have mobilized numerous global cross-functional teams to help ensure those diversity efforts are integrated into the business.”

iversity matters to Dell on the large scale, but diversity also matters to me personally. I wanted to ensure that, in addition to our own efforts to advance diversity within the Dell legal function, we also leveraged our relationship with our outside law firms to broaden our impact.
I felt it was important for our law firms to understand the importance I place in having diverse representation, and for us to highlight the best practices among those firms, in order to spur all of us to redouble our efforts. Tis led us to launch the Dell Legal Diversity Award in October 2011. Te award will annually identify one law firm that stands out both in its firm-wide diversity efforts and in its diverse staffing of Dell projects. We held a reception in Austin to launch the program
and to present the inaugural recognition award to Fulbright & Jaworski, a firm which Dell has worked with for years and which has an impressive diversity track record, includ- ing many initiatives in which Dell and Fulbright have partnered. Te reception was well attended by Dell legal team members, Fulbright attorneys, and numerous repre-
