COMMENT
The only way is up when it comes to office rents in Cambridge, according to Bidwells research. Despite a drop in take-up last year, blamed on a diminishing supply of office stock, particularly grade A, this could see top rents
rise by more than 11% to £34 per sq ft this year. The firm isn’t predicting rents
for Ipswich but reckons despite an increase in take-up last year, top rents in Norwich will fall back by 50p per sq ft to £14.50 per sq ft.
No such growth is predicted for
industrial rents across the region despite a marginal uplift in take-up, not for this year at least. It will be 2014 at the earliest before headline rents start growing again, say Bidwells researchers.
