PCMA New England Celebrates Two Decades
PCMA’s New England Chapter celebrated its 20th anniversary on Dec. 4 with its Annual Meeting, reception, and annual auction benefiting the chapter’s scholarship fund and local charities. The program was hosted at the Revere Hotel Boston Common and also served as a preview to Convening Leaders 2014 — which will take place in Boston. “We were thrilled that our 20th Annual
Meeting was such a huge success and had record-breaking attendance,” said Kevin Panetta, regional vice president of sales for onPeak. “It was a true testament to the hard work of so many past and current leaders of the chapter that have helped grow it to the successful organization that it is today. And based on the energy from everyone present, all I can say is: Get ready PCMA — Boston is going to knock your Sox off in 2014!”
Elevating Meetings
Registration for PCMA’s 2013 Education Conference is now open. With more than 3,500 exhibitors from 150 countries, IMEX provides all your meeting-planning needs. Each year, PCMA brings a group of 10 to 15 hosted buyers to IMEX Frankfurt, which will take place May 21–23, 2013. PCMA’s IMEX hosted-buyer opportunity includes complimentary travel and registration for the event. In exchange, planners meet with a small number of suppliers for pre-set appointments, network with other PCMA members on a global level, and experience top-notch education. Hosted buyers develop great relationships with important industry suppliers and destination representatives as a result. Find more information about

Making Membership a Reality
Disney Destinations, in support of the PCMA Education Foundation, has made it possible for the Foundation to fund PCMA memberships for a select number of meeting professionals over the next three years. Beginning this past November and continuing through November 2015, a generous endowment of $50,000 from Disney Destinations will award three one-year memberships each month to selected applicants.
In order to be considered for a scholarship, applicants must be meeting professionals who are joining PCMA for the first time, or who have not held a PCMA membership in the past three years.
“Disney Destinations’ PCMA membership scholarships will open doors and experiences,” said Disney Destinations Vice President of Resort Sales and Services Anne Hamilton, “that will undoubtedly enrich recipients’ careers and help them deliver strategic value and quantifiable impact to their organizations.”
