NHS REGIONAL PAY ‘FLAWED’
The chancellor’s ditching of the flawed proposals for regional pay in the NHS was the “nail in the coffin” for trusts in the south west which want to introduce local deals, Unite said following the autumn statement.
Unite national officer Rachael Maskell said, “George Osborne recognised in his autumn statement the plans for regional pay in

the NHS were unworkable and unfair, and would do nothing to improve patient services.
“The chancellor’s announce-ment should drive the final nail into the coffin of plans by trusts belonging to the south west pay, terms and conditions consortium to introduce local deals in the south west of England.” Let’s hope that is the case.
