Validus to acquire Flagstone Re Bermuda Re/insurance Perennial acquirer, Validus Holdings, has announced a merger with Flagstone Re. The deal follows a troubled few months for Flagstone Re, which suffered heavy losses during 2011. The two Bermuda-based companies expect the deal to be concluded by the fourth quarter of 2012. The combined company will retain the Validus name, Bermuda headquarters and executive management team.



