UK AIRPLAY ANALYSIS BY ALAN JONES
THE TOP OF THE RADIO AIRPLAY CHART remains gridlocked, with Maroon 5's Payphone (feat. Wiz Khalifa) number one for the sixth straight week, and Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe its runner- up for the fifth straight week. Support for both tracks ebbed last week - but Payphone's still superb audience rating of 81.72m means it is a commanding 43.09% ahead of Call Me Maybe, and 56.37% ahead of third placed Katy Perry, whose Wide Awake is gaining slowly as it advances from number five.
Rather like the sales chart, the radio airplay chart is pretty stagnant at the moment - the only new arrival in the Top 10 this week is Spectrum (Say My Name) by Florence & The Machine. Number one on sales for three weeks, the track's 14-8 advance on the radio airplay chart is attended by increases of 23.78% in plays (from 1,577 to 1,952) and 25.98% in audience (from 32.45m to 40.88m). With a grand total of 1,952 plays from 145 supporters on the overall Nielsen Music Control panel of 322 stations however, it

TV airplay chart top 40 © Nielsen Music. Compiled from data gathered from last Sunday to Saturday. The TV airplay chart is currently based on plays on the following stations: 4Music, Bliss TV, Clubland TV, Channel AKA, Chart Show TV, DancenationTV, Flava, Kerrang! TV, Kiss TV, Lava TV, Magic TV, MTV Base, MTV Dance, MTV Hits, MTV1, MTV Rocks, NME TV, Q TV, Scuzz, Smash Hits TV, Starz, The Box, Vault, Viva, VH1
seems that many stations are still resistant to its charms. Its biggest supporters last week: Ministry Of Sound (60 plays), 107.6 Juice FM (56) and Fire (52) - though 21 plays on Radio One provided 38.02% of
the track's overall audience. Rita Ora's first hit as a primary artist, RIP also attracted a lot of airplay, reaching number five on the radio airplay chart nine weeks ago. Even before release, follow-up How We Do (Party) is on the verge of following it into the Top 10. It rockets 34-12 this week, with 1,544 plays earning it an audience of 32.08m. 12 of those plays and 29.62% of How We Do (Party)'s audience are courtesy of Radio One. 59 plays from Smash Hits, and 411 from the Capital Network - with individual station tallies between 43 and 47 - also make outstanding contributions. Brokenhearted from American duo Karmin (pictured) makes a big
first impression on the OCC sales chart, debuting at number four this week. Its success clearly owes something to its fast growing radio profile. The track vaults 45-25 on the radio airplay chart this week, with the biggest increase in plays of any track (from 1,415 to 1,986) triggering a 46.22% jump in its audience to more than 27.11m. With no plays on Radio Two and just one on Radio One, it is indebted to the Capital Network, where 537 plays provide a stellar 54.15% of the track's overall audience. Topping the TV airplay chart for the
third time in four weeks, the video for Chris Brown's Don't Wake Me Up was aired 680 times last week.
