YOU can sometimes excuse an artist for picking all their own tunes on Beatport, or cherry picking from the back catalogue of the label that they run. Ryan Crosson – he of Visionquest fame alongside Seth Troxler, Lee Curtis and Shaun Reeves - has opted for a more altruistic route however, choosing to highlight Leftroom, the label that belongs to UK DJ and producer Matt Tolfrey, instead.
A quick scan of the names – which includes fellow Visionquester Mr
Curtis, ‘most popular everything’ Jamie Jones and the post- minimal Kate Simko – shows why Ryan might have a penchant for leaning Leftroom though, especially given the presence of his own disco-filtering remix of ‘C’mon People’ which rocks as emphatically as its title calls for.
Listen out for Matt’s debut Leftroom album, from which his forthcoming single ‘Turn You Out’, featuring Ya Kid K from ‘90’s dance act Technotronic, is taken.
