THE LEGAL ELITE
In our annual legal survey, we aim to discover which law firms and lawyers are leading the field in the insurance and reinsurance space.
and reinsurers, as well as brokers and notable lawyers who work within the industry. The work was then coupled with our own research in order to arrive at our list of winners.
I In terms of the US market, one company certainly dominated the
top spot in several categories. Simpson Thacher & Bartlett came out as market leader for US litigation, claims and reinsurance. This represented a marked improvement on the firm’s performance last year, when it only topped the reinsurance category.
Debevoise & Plimpton also improved its standing in this year’s results, rising up from a commended in last year’s survey to steal the top spot for US regulation.
The results for the UK market revealed another good showing for Clyde
& Co, following its merger with Barlow Lyde and Gilbert. The company took three of the top places, in litigation, claims and reinsurance.
Bermuda’s results reflected hardly any change, with Appleby and
Conyers Dill & Pearman dominating the top spots, and Appleby also knocking Attride-Stirling & Woloniecki off the top rung for litigation.
