Resuming Operations After a Loss The ease with which a company can recover from a loss depends largely on the quality of early planning.

“If you’re thinking about the claim at the time you have the loss, then you’re furlongs behind in the race.”

Gerald Kissner, Zurich

Insureds should give all the necessary thought to a potential business interruption claim long before the claim actually occurs. That involves working with the risk manager, broker and insurer to determine what the plan will be so when it is time to get the company back in business, it is just a matter of executing on it. Everyone should know who is on the team and what their role is.
