ROWAN Design Competition 2012

In March we launched an exciting design competition, to produce an accessory design inspired by one of the nations taking part in this year’s Olympic Games.

Entries have now all been judged, and a winner chosen! The judging team, including head Rowan Designer Marie Wallin, were blown away by the standard of the entries, so much so that they chose to award two extra prizes of a Rowan Subscription package to second and third placed winners.

Miki Pettit took third place with her beautiful “Stars and Stripes” beret in Cashsoft DK, whereas Janis Clinton was just pipped into second place with her knitted headphone covers. Lynette Meek also received a Highly Commended award.

However, there could only be one winner, and Julie Ferguson’s Aboriginal Cowl took the top place award. Julie wins yarn up to the value of £150 and a free Rowan Subscription membership for her and a friend.

Many thanks again for taking part in our competition, we really were thrilled by all the wonderful ideas and designs which were submitted.
