C Continuing ollaborations Philip Watts Design extends a long-running collaboration with exciting Japanese restaurant chain YO! Sushi.
Philip Watts Design has recently completed their latest in a long line of successful projects for YO! Sushi, this time focusing their attention on the trendy London borough of Camden.
The site, which opened in March, has a fresh feel that reflects the quality of produce used in the restaurants. There is also a hint of excitement in the air, with bright colours and striking features, including a magnificent feature wall running along the back of the restaurant. This is in the form of a hand painted Japanese‐inspired mural, which was designed and painted by the PWD team. The ceiling of the restaurant is adorned with a huge bespoke sunburst ceiling light feature, which draws the eye around the restaurant and is replicated along the walls. Rusty sheet panels inset with mirror strips also feature to add an extra depth to the design.
When it comes to the seating area, both booths and stools around the belt are finished with a button effect, adding further interest for the visitors and providing a sense of comfort and luxury to the seating. Philip Watts Design has worked with YO! Sushi for almost seven years, and has completed a total of fifteen restaurants for the brand in this time. Briefs for each restaurant are different, ensuring that any new site brings something new to the brand. The only prerequisites of each site are that the YO! Sushi branding is adhered
to, and that the famous conveyor belt takes pride of place.
The brief for this particular site was that it should reflect the area in which it is situated, so Philip Watts Design were asked to focus on the youthful and trendy vibe of Camden. As well as this, the design accentuates Japanese influences to reflect the YO! Sushi brand, whilst also representing its core food values. The resulting project is colourful, eye catching and lots of fun!
