I was the last one out of the bar almost every night for over 25 years. I’d grown up around the racetrack and been around a lot of drinking—it was just a way of life. When I was 59 years old, a young man I worked with kept talking to me about Jesus Christ. Not long afterward Iwas sitting in my living room, listening to Charles Stanley when I surrendered my life to Jesus. I told the Lord about my drinking problem, and in an almost unbelievable way, the desire totally left me and I’ve never wanted a drink since. I’m 75 years old now, own a racecar, and am a chaplain at the Salem Speedway in Indiana.

Ministries we minister at our big event of over 300,000 people every year. We deliver water, provide medical care, and minister to folks who are there. I can take a regular Bible and people won’t even give it a glance. But if I have a New Testament with race cars on the cover, they’ll pick it up and look at it. A little while ago I lead a little nine-year-old boy to Jesus right there in my racecar. Just this last year we knew of over 1,300 people what came to Christ through this ministry. I know God puts us in special places where we can relate to the people who are there.
