We already have a Building Management System (BMS) so we won’t need this...


Many BMS systems that have been installed do not have energy management functionality, so are incapable of providing the level of granularity required to understand energy usage in any meaningful way. In addition, even if your BMS does have some level of energy management functionality, inappropriate configuration means that potential savings are often not realised. SmartControl™ works alongside your existing BMS, complementing its functionality. It will also identify if the BMS itself requires attention.


Do I have to take the managed service?


No. We also have installation only packages, which will allow you to monitor and control assets yourself.


If at a later date you decide that you wish to take up the managed service, transfer of responsibility can be arranged.


Can SmartControl™ provide compliance reporting (eg CRC)?


SmartControl™ has reporting modules which produce reports suitable for CRC and Greenhouse Gas reporting.


Do I have to power down my site?


Not necessarily. There may be occasions where a short power down period is required, but a total shutdown is often not required. We offer both wired and wireless hardware options, so if powering down is an issue for you then we will work with you in relation to system specification, in order to minimise disruption.


Is it expensive… ?


We think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. We pride ourselves on providing value for money services


and solutions. Our approach is normally significantly more cost effective than installing a new BMS or upgrading the functionality of your existing BMS, and has been designed to work with most major BMS types. It can also be used in buildings which do not have BMS systems, with the same level of effectiveness.


We don’t have any budget available…


We work with the Carbon Trust and other partners to source low cost funding for clients who cannot afford the up-front costs. Savings will almost always exceed costs over the duration of the loan period. We also offer a unique savings/share scheme, Pathfinder Save™, which provides the capital upfront for services and solutions. The cost of the installed hardware is paid for from the savings generated.
