LV-Link 3.0 Data Translation has released a new version of its LV-Link software drivers for LabVIEW. LV-Link is a library of Virtual Instruments (VIs) that provide quick and easy access to Data Translation’s USB modules and PCI boards in LabVIEW. Both the 32- and 64-bit versions of the graphical programming environment are supported. LV-Link 3.0 also includes a comprehensive, updated Help and additional example programs to facilitate application development. The virtual instruments have been specially developed for high-speed data acquisition and output. They integrate all the subsystems and features provided by Data Translation’s USB and PCI measurement hardware, including analogue I/O, digital I/O, counter/ timers, quadrature decoders and

streaming data to disk at full speed. The use of polymorphic VIs allows a reduction in the number of virtual instruments within a LabVIEW application. Polymorphic VIs combine
the functionality of different VIs into one VI that takes on different characteristics depending on the selected subsystem.

Integration of Tibco Spotfire and Instant JChem
Tibco Software and ChemAxon, a provider of chemical software development platforms and desktop applications for the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, have announced the full integration of the Tibco Spotfire Analytics Platform with ChemAxon’s Instant JChem data management application. Through this integration, new levels of visualisation, analysis and exploration will be available to the life science community. Designed specifically for end users, Instant JChem is ChemAxon’s
Pedant Cloud Service
Biomax Informatics has launched a new cloud-based online sequence analysis service. The Pedant Cloud Service offers the accuracy of the Pedant-Pro Sequence Analysis Suite as a subscription service, enabling researchers to load sequences and receive a complete genome analysis
online. The analysis results are presented as uniform data sets, which can be easily explored, searched or exported for use in other research workflows. Intuitive online DNA and protein viewers provide a navigational context for browsing the data. All sequences and results are maintained

desktop chemistry solution that allows scientists to manage and search chemical structures and related information. Through JChem, users can create, explore and share chemical and non-chemical data stored in local and remote databases. With this integration, Instant JChem’s data generation and management capabilities are now fully exposed to the Tibco Spotfire Analytics Platform, bringing new levels of chemical search, analysis and visualisation capabilities. Using Tibco Spotfire, chemists
can evaluate an increasing amount of data derived from screening, ADME and chemistry research efforts focusing on compound series. This allows them to take full advantage of the information to make the best decisions regarding the prioritisation of which compounds to synthesise. New information can easily be accomodated by the platform, which allows chemists to spot trends in complex datasets through the use of multiple linking visualisations and chemical structure viewing.

Radiant Sage, a provider of on-demand clinical trial image management solutions, has partnered with a leading pharmaceutical company to enhance and re-launch its open source DICOM images submitter solution, now named ImageLink. The significantly enriched tool will be a fully validated and supported open source solution that will enable clinical trial sponsors and their partners to submit and share images through one common user interface. Through the partnership, the
two organisations are integrating this tool as a plug-in to Radiant Sage’s Corelab-in-a-Box and Image Collaborative Portal solutions. Radiant Sage will ensure the tool is authenticated by the necessary industry organisations, regularly update and maintain the solution, and serve as the technology provider to support end users. The open source model will also enable end users to further customise the application.
