NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY Capturing the great outdoors

PHOTOS IN BLOOM

The spring and summer months bring with them wonderful flowers, blossoms, blue skies and, of course, many great photographic

opportunities. The longer days bring brighter, warmer light that’s not often seen in the winter months – and this can make all the difference to your images. Whether using a compact camera or more considerable kit, there are opportunities for every level of ability to succeed in making fantastic images of the great outdoors. We’ve rounded up some stunning shots from this year’s International Garden Photographer of the Year competition (www.igpoty.com) to inspire you. Our tips are divided into three subcategories – Landscapes, Gardens & Flora and Close-up & Macro – to help you know what to look out for when on a shoot. Click on the icons below and then the three tabs for more info.
