Robert Roberts began life as aQuaker firm; although some things have changed, its commitment to fairness has not. Robert Roberts has had a big impact on the Irish Fairtrademovement whichstartedwiththe launchof the first IrishFairtrade tea in 2003. Four years later, this success lead to the decision to convert themajority of its black teas to Fairtrade. For the first time, this gave Irish tea drinkers a range of Fairtrade teas to choose from– including Organic,Decaf and LuxuryKenyan. However, this did not automatically mean higher prices for the consumer. Roisin O’Shea, business unitmanager, comments: “Although passionate about Fairtrade, it is important thatwe offer good value, nowmore than ever.” Robert Roberts don’tcomprise on quality or taste, and their teas and coffeeswere
